エフライムの山地に、エルカナという一人の信仰深い男性が住んでいました。彼は毎年、自分の町からシロ（当時、神殿のあった町です）に上っては主を礼拝し、いけにえをささげていました。
彼には二人の妻がいて、一人はハンナ、もう一人はペニナといいました。そのうち、ペニナのほうには子どもがいましたがハンナには子どもがいませんでした。
ユダヤの社会では、女性にとって一番の祝福は子どもが与えられることでした。たとえば、アブラハムの妻、サラには長い間子どもが与えられませんでしたが、サラは妥協策として、女奴隷（ハガル）にアブラハムの子どもをもうけさせています。それほどに、後継ぎを産むことは重要な事柄だったのです。
ハンナは、夫エルカナの優しい言葉によって慰められますが、どうしても子どもが欲しかった彼女は、主なる神に誓願を立てます。それは、「もしも、自分に男の子をお授けくださるなら、わたしはその子を主にささげます」という誓いです。
こうして、与えられた男の子がサムエル（「その名は神」の意）です。このハンナの祈りの物語から響いてくるメッセージに、今朝は耳を傾けます。

本日は、「夏の音楽礼拝」と銘打って礼拝をささげます。演奏者として大泉バプテスト教会から宮崎修行（のぶゆき）さんをお招きしています。宮崎さんは、これまで大泉バプテスト教会で、クリスマスなど特別な集会がある度に、楽器を持参して演奏してくださいました。
それだけではなく、勤務先であったＩＣＵ（国際基督教大学）でも、大学のチャペルの時間に、数人の教員たちとチームを組んで、主として木管楽器を担当するかたちで、アンサンブルで演奏し、曲目を披露されました。
わたし自身、その折には練馬から三鷹まで車を走らせ、ＩＣＵのチャペルでの礼拝に出席し、前の方の席で宮崎さんの演奏に耳を傾けたことがあります。特に心に残った曲としては、フォーレの「レクイエム」があげられます。静かな、心の奥に染み入るようなこの曲を聞くと、別離の悲しみが癒されるような気がしたものです。
本日の夏の音楽礼拝は、当教会として2019年以来、4年ぶりの開催となります。久しぶりの音楽礼拝を通して、礼拝における音楽の果たす役割の大切さ、その素晴らしさを体で実感しましょう。また、礼拝を通して、主を賛美する喜びを味わいましょう。

Today, we will offer a service titled "Summer Music Service." We have invited Mr. Nobuyuki Miyazaki from Oizumi Baptist Church as a performer. Mr. Miyazaki has brought his instrument to play at every special meeting at Oizumi Baptist Church, such as Christmas.
Not only that, but at ICU (International Christian University), where he worked, he also teamed up with several faculty members to perform during the university chapel, mainly on woodwind instruments, as an ensemble.
I myself drove from Nerima to Mitaka to attend the service in the ICU chapel and listened to Mr. Miyazaki's performance from the front pew. One piece that particularly stuck with me was Faure's "Requiem. I felt as if the sorrow of separation was healed when I heard this quiet, soothing piece.
Today's summer music service will be our church's first in four years, since 2019. Through our first music worship service in a long time, let us experience with our bodies the importance of the role of music in worship and how wonderful it is. Let us also experience the joy of praising the Lord through worship.

使徒言行録3章によると、ペトロとヨハネが、午後3時の祈りの時に祈るために神殿に上って行ったとき、「美しい門」と呼ばれる門の傍に、生まれつき足の不自由な男が置かれていたと書かれています。
この男は、そのような所で人々から得た「施し」によって、それまで生きてきたのでした。ペトロとヨハネがこの男を見た時も、男は当初「何かもらえる」という期待を込めて、二人を見つめていたと記されています。
ところが、ペトロの口から発せられた言葉は、次の言葉でした。「わたしには金や銀はないが、持っているものをあげよう。ナザレの人イエス・キリストの名によって立ち上がり、歩きなさい。」こうして、ペトロが手を取ると、男は踊り上がって立ち、歩み出したのでした。
これに続く本日の4章で、ペトロとヨハネの二人が神殿当局に捕らえられた後、最高法院で訊問を受ける場面が描かれています。神殿における病人の癒しの行為は、イエス・キリストの名による救いのわざに他ならないと、二人は証言するのです。このペトロの弁明を無言のうちに聞いていた証人、それが「美しい門」で癒された男でした。彼は、ひと言も話していませんが、そこにいるだけで、ペトロとヨハネの証人となったのです。

According to Acts 3, when Peter and John went up to the temple to pray at the 3 p.m. prayer time, they found a man lame from birth placed by the gate called the "beautiful gate."
This man had lived by the "alms" he had obtained from people in such places. When Peter and John saw the man, it is written that the man initially looked at them with the expectation that he would receive something.
But the words that came out of Peter's mouth were the following. I have no gold or silver, but I will give you what I have. "Arise and walk in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth." And when Peter took his hand, the man danced up, stood up, and walked away.
This is followed today in chapter 4 by the scene in which Peter and John are questioned by the Supreme Court after being captured by the temple authorities. They testified that the healing of the sick in the temple was nothing less than a work of salvation in the name of Jesus Christ. The witness who was silently listening to Peter's defense was the man healed at the "Beautiful Gate." He did not speak a word, but his mere presence was a witness to Peter and John.

本日から来週の日曜日（6月25日〜7月2日）までは「神学校週間」です。これは、献身者となって連盟の諸教会におけるさまざまなミニストリーを担うための専門的な学びをする神学生を支援するために「全国壮年会連合」が受け皿となって呼びかけている日本バプテスト連盟の働きです。
日本バプテスト連盟には、3つの教派神学校、すなわち西南学院大学神学部、東京バプテスト神学校、九州バプテスト神学校がありますが、とくに西南学院大学神学部は、伝道者養成のための神学校として全国から献身者を受け入れ、全日制の神学教育を行っている大学神学部です。一人の神学生が学びを終えるためには、授業料や施設費、生活費や本代など多額の費用がかかります。その支援を行うために、日本バプテスト連盟の全国壮年会連合は立ち上がりました。具体的には、授業料や施設費などを賄うための「第1種奨学金」に加え、生活費・本代などを支援する「第2種奨学金」も設けられ、神学生たちが安心して学びに打ち込めるように環境整備がなされています。
この1週間を大切に覚え、神学生支援のために祈り、またおささげしましょう。
●6月25日 週報巻頭言 神学校週間礼拝 牧師 木村 一充
Today through next Sunday (June 25-July 2) is "Seminary Week". This is a ministry of the Japan Baptist Convention, which is a ministry of "the National Federation of Mature Men Association" to support seminary students in their professional studies in order for them to become dedicated members and take on various ministries in the various churches of the Federation.
Japan Baptist Convention has three denominational seminaries: Seinan Gakuin University Faculty of Theology, Tokyo Baptist Theological Seminary, and Kyushu Baptist Theological Seminary. It costs a great deal of money for one theology student to complete his/her studies, including tuition, facility fees, living expenses, and books. Japan Baptist Convention's National Federation of Mature Adults Men Association has risen up to provide this support. Specifically, in addition to the "Type 1 Scholarship" to cover tuition and facility fees, a "Type 2 Scholarship" has been established to support living expenses and book costs, creating an environment where seminary students can devote themselves to their studies with peace of mind.
Let us remember this week carefully and pray and offer our prayers for the support of seminary students.

ルカによる福音書10章1節以下では、イエスが弟子たちのほかに72人を任命し、ご自分が訪問する先に前もって二人ずつ一組にして、派遣したことが書かれています。「収穫は多いが、働き手が少ない。だから収穫のために働き手を送ってくださるように、収穫の主に願いなさい。」とイエスは言われるのです。
長きに亘るコロナ自粛による行動制限もあって、私たちは「収穫は少ない」と思い込んでいるのではないでしょうか。しかし、イエスは「収穫は多い」と言われるのです。そのことをアーメンと信じて、日ごとの福音宣教のわざに励みたいと思わされます。
さらに、遣わされたる者たちに向かって「財布も袋も履物も持って行くな。」と 主は言われます。これらは、宣教の働きに従事する者が、道中で出くわす困難を避けるために、働き人が予め用意する備え（資金）を意味します。主イエス は、福音宣教とは、そのようなものを準備万端整えて初めておこなうようなものではないと言われるのです。
キリスト教伝道が、なぜ全世界へと大きく拡大、進展して行ったのか、それはこの精神のゆえです。神学校週間を次週にして、本日は伝道の心構えについてみ言葉に聞きます。

In Luke 10:1 and following, we read that Jesus appointed 72 men in addition to his disciples and sent them in pairs ahead of time to the places he would visit. Jesus said, "The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field. "
We may assume that the harvest is "little," partly because of the long-standing restriction of activities due to the corona self-restraint. But Jesus says, “The harvest is plentiful." Believing this with Amen, we should strive to do the work of preaching the gospel day by day.
Furthermore, to those whom He sends, the Lord says, "Do not take a purse or bag or sandals." These are the provisions (funds) that a worker prepares in advance in order to avoid difficulties that he or she may encounter along the way. The Lord Jesus says that gospel preaching is not something that can be done only after all such preparations have been made.
This spirit causes that Christian evangelism has greatly expanded and progressed throughout the world. With Seminary Week coming up next week, today we will hear from the Word of God about how to be prepared for evangelism.
