本日の聖書箇所であるローマの信徒への手紙5章12節以下では、「信仰による義」というこの手紙に特徴的な用語の説明に続いて、アダムとキリストとの対比がなされています。
  「一人の人によって罪が世に入り、罪によって死が入り込んだように、」とあるのは、アダムの堕罪によって罪が全人類に当てはまる出来事になったということ、アダムが全人類のモデル（範例）となったということです。アダムの堕罪は、単に彼だけの個人的な問題ではなく、すべての人に共通する事柄であり、その意味で、アダムは、イエス・キリストを前もって表す者（＝予型）であると、パウロは語るのです。
  しかし、イエス・キリストによる救い、即ち「信仰による義」によって与えられる「恵み」は、このアダムの罪を覆い尽くして余りあるものだとパウロは言います。ちょうど、火事になったとき、駆けつけた消防車が炎の勢いが強ければ強いほど、それを消し止めようと、さらにいっそう勢いよく放水するように、罪が増したところには恵みがなおいっそう満ちあふれるというのです。本日は、この箇所からメッセージを聞きます。

   Today’s scripture, in Romans 5:12, compares Adam and Christ after the explanation of the characteristic words in this letter “Justice through Faith.”
   “just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin,” means all human beings has had sins through the Fall of Adam, and Adam has become a model (an example) of all human beings. the Fall of Adam is not an individual problem but for all the people in common. Therefore, Paul says Adam is a man (a figural) who are indicated Jesus Christ in advance.
   Paul says, however. “Grace” through Faith, that is, the salvation through Jesus Christ, has more covered Adam’s sin. As strong as the fire flows, fire fighters try to water-discharge more powerfully to put out a fire. It’s same. Grace is fulfilled in lots of sins. From this passage, we will listen to the message today.
